Al Ahmadiya School and Heritage House - Dubai

Al Ahmadiya School:


Al Ahmadiya School is the first national semi-regular school in the Emirate of Dubai. It was founded and established by the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Dalmouk in 1912.The school included a group of scientists and scholars to teach at the school from neighboring Arab countries. The education has continued in the school until 1958 . Later in 1995 , Dubai Government restored the school and transformed it into a historical museum.


The School gives you a chance to discover the process of education in the UAE , especially in the emirates of Dubai.You will be able to experience the atmosphere of traditional education in different sections of the school, including internal and external classes, corridors, internal courtyard, utilities and facilities.There are also introductory briefs about the founder of the school, in addition to the names of the first generation of teachers and students of the school who have become among the ruling men of the country, literature and trade in Dubai. Also you will understand more about the educational system in those times.The school provide an old curricula papers , and learning material, also it show you the whole environment of the learning classes.


The visit will give a clear perspective on the extent of cooperation and communication, between the local community and the neighbouring communities.There is sculptures and models in the school , which were added to display more realistic environment for the visitors.


Heritage House:


The Heritage House is located on of the oldest urban sites in Dubai, Al Ras area - Deira. The house was established by Mr. Matar Saeed bin Mazina in 1890, to provide a comprehensive description of the nature of local traditional housing with its content, like traditional tools made by man to tackle the daily life. The house consists of two floors and it was built of coral, stone, plaster, teakwood, chandal wood, and the fronds and trunks of palm trees.


By visiting this museum you will be able to live in different rooms that includes unique information. There is a story behind each room, for example the living room shows you models sitting and gathered together, presenting our traditional way for welcoming our visitors.Another room, shows a model for a bride and a groom wearing the old traditional dresses for the wedding day. and the room was decorated as if it a real bride room.

Outside the rooms , there’s a Yard that model of kids are in it , to show our traditional games that our kids used to play.


Ahmedia Heritage Guesthouse:


Near to the museum , you will find Ahmedia Heritage Guest House, which is a hotel was designed to look like a heritage building. It is a good choice if you want to be in the heritage side of Dubai. After a hectic day, residents may relax and have refreshments in the Courtyard, lay by the Sun Terrace


Al Bait Al Qadeem Restaurant:


In the same area you can Enjoy our traditional food in Al bait Al Qadeem Restaurant. where they have a delicious Khameer bread and Karak (traditional tea with milk in the Gulf) , and many other traditional food.
