DUBAI old souk is one of the most traditional shopping place there, Which is located in Bur Dubai. The environment of this place has a traditional print, using wood in their building architecture, nature cooling or depending on fans. The architecture of the shop doors, which made out of woods, gives a sample of simple life that old generation live it in the UAE before unity and development progresses. The colors of the location is between brown and white, including light beige and off white pattern.

People, especially shopping lovers or Souvenirs collectors, would be a best place to visit once you come to Dubai. There are many trophy of places in UAE such as Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab that you can buy.

From a side, there are some shops that sale some traditional clothes and fabrics that are not available in new modern shops in big malls. The colors and touch of these fabrics are unique, there are some flowered, glittered, and embroidery fabrics. Moreover, prices on fabrics depends on how detailed are embroidery is made on the clothes. In addition, prices are not fixed, which is in other words, affordable for all people of different level of status.

There are some shops that sales some spices and food, or other ingredients for cooking that might not found as much as in groceries. Moreover, there are herbs and spices that used for medicine and health care use. These spices are traded from other countries, such as India and other Middle East countries. This trade was from old time, trading with these countries even before the Emitters unity, which strength the trading relation with these countries.

Looking at different features that are provided by the old souk, there is a specific section that sales gold there. Although gold is considered as one of the most expensive metals, there is a chance to discuss about the price with the sales man.

For house objects lovers, there are bunch of plates that have different decoration that attracts shoppers, as well as tea and coffee pots that are considered as one of traditional habits in families; mentioning welcoming parties or celebrations. Different cups, mugs, jars, jakes, trays and table spoons are available in different sizes for different uses. Cooking pots and handles are also there which is considered as home necessity to have. Moreover, these equipment prices are free to change, with no fix process that suits costumers to buy.

Home furnishing materials are available there too. You can have your home carpet with the size you need from this souk. The fabric used in carpets are high quality and handmade, although the price is not fix regards to the difficult of making.

Food lovers will enjoy most, because there are many traditional dishes sold in old souk. You can try old Chibab, Harees, Margoogah, Regag, Sagoo, Khameer; which is kind of bread, Al Lugaimat with date sauce, honey or sugar spirited on that gives a special taste.

For seafood taster, there are some traditional dishes that contains rich with fish grilled on top with ghee spread on it. Mentioning the fish, there are different types of fish and each type have a curtain type of cooking. For example, Hamoor fish is for Saloona, which is a type of sauce with spices, some variables.

There are also some shops that sales traditional perfumes, which is different from French perfume that have chemicals and Alcohol for strength the smell unlike traditional perfumes. The most popular traditional perfumes on this souk is Dehen oud, which has different smells used in, named as kambodi, for instance. Moreover, there are what we called it Dokhoon, that used in occasions such as Eid, marriage ceremonies and Ramadan.

Transportation is one of people necessity in their daily life use; they can use different transportation methods such as bus, car or taxis. Since the location is surrounded with canal, people can use boats to across from one place to another. This we called it Al Abraa, which is in Dubai Greek there. It costs about two dirhams to move from one place to another.

My advice for visitors who are willing to come to Dubai, to visit this souk that provides with good services, nice environment and simple live as well as delicious food there. This place would be an enjoyable stop in UAE and it is good to show history of the country for visitors who visit UAE, and saving nice memories in Dubai.
